– Is my smoke alarm mains powered?

ANSWER
Go check and see if you can see if has a green light glowing on the smoke alarm this will tell you if it is mains powered.

– Has my smoke alarm expired?

ANSWER
Most smoke alarms will have a expiry date or manufacture date. The date is usually near the battery, smoke alarms have a life of 10 years.

– How often do a replace the smoke alarm battery?

ANSWER
Smoke alarm batteries need to be replaced once a year.

– Can I do my own electrical wiring in Australia?

ANSWER
To do electrical wiring in Australia you need to be a qualified electrician and to charge for the service of electrical wiring you need to be an electrical contractor.

– Do LED’s really save on electricity?

ANSWER
LED’s can save you a lot on electricity, it depends on how much light you are considering replacing to LED.

– Is a RCD the same thing as a circuit breaker?

ANSWER
An RCD and a circuit breaker they do two very different functions. An RCD can be identified by the test button located on the device.

– If I don’t have RCD’s can an electrician install new lights and power points in my home?

ANSWER
New lights and power points are required to be RCD protected so can not be installed on a circuit with out RCD Protection.

– Can i replace my cook top with an induction cooktop?

ANSWER
It will depend on the cable size run from the switch board and the size of the new cooktop. We can do a few simple checks to see if you will have any issues.

– What do you do if you lose power?

ANSWER
If you lose power unplug things from your power points and try reset your RCD if that doesn’t work call us we will sort it out for you.

– Why wont my RCD reset?

ANSWER
It is either the RCD has detected an earth leakage or is faulty. If the switch is very floppy it is probably a faulty RCD.
